The One Thing You MUST Do For Your Refrigerator

Updated: Jul 23

Most people just plug in their refrigerator and let it run for years until a problem occurs but there is something critical you should be doing every year! Here is one piece of advice that will help keep your refrigerator in tip-top shape in order to avoid all the delicious foods from being spoiled in a refrigerator break down!. Regular refrigerator maintenance helps keep your refrigerator odor free, reduces energy usage, and will ensure the life of your refrigerator. Vacuuming the refrigerator coils once a year will help with that! Your refrigerator's condenser coils release heat from the machine to keep your food cold. Yucky dust, hair, pet fur or other debris can cover the coils by clogging them and preventing the coils from doing their job to release heat. This puts major stress on your refrigerator's condenser and will make it work harder thereby increasing your energy bills and shortening the life of your beloved refrigerator. I bet you didn’t know that you can easily clean these coils yourself! The coils are located underneath a panel that pops off either at the bottom or on the back of the refrigerator. You can gently vacuum the coils and the fan if you can get to that as well. This is the main thing that should be done for your refrigerator once a year to help save you money and prevent having to pay for expensive repairs. This alone will definitely extend your refrigerator‘s life!
