Let's Get Your Glass Cooktop Clean!

Do you know how to properly clean your cooktop? Let me give you a few tips to make sure that you are cleaning it properly without scratching it and also prevent this cleaning job from being harder than it should be. First, let me just say, there’s no need to be scrubbing your cooktop in order to get it clean and shiny again. The best cleaner that you can use to make your cooktop shiny again is made from simple natural ingredients that most of you have in your kitchen already. If you have an empty spray bottle, put in a little white vinegar, and in a bowl, make a paste of baking soda and water. These simple ingredients make a very effective cleaner for your cooktop (1/2 cup baking soda and water just to make a paste to apply to your cooktop then spray with vinegar to activate it). After you let these simple ingredients sit on the cooktop for a few minutes, you should easily be able to wipe away the vinegar paste you made along with the caked-on mess that needs to be removed. Everything should simply wipe off, but there may sometimes be stubborn spots that need to be treated again or gently scraped with a flat razor. Weiman sells the best glass cooktop cleaner that is non-abrasive. It is a similar paste, but this paste gets buffed into the glass to clean and shine at the same time.

Other than the specific, flat scraping razor, you should never be using anything abrasive. For those of you, that just love to use a Magic Eraser on anything, just forget about trying to use it on your stovetop. Magic Eraser sponges have a very fine abrasive texture and will leave little scratches in your glass. Always use a soft cloth when cleaning the cooktop and check the appliance manufacturer's instructions when in doubt. Cleaning your cooktop can be very easy just by following the manufactures instructions or the simple tips above. This will keep you cooked up in new-looking condition all the time.
